More Details on Our Top Picks
Ricky Rain Frog Christmas Tree by JellyCat
This pick stands out for its playful, holiday-themed costume that transforms the Ricky Rain Frog into a charming Christmas tree. Its embroidered baubles and star-topped hat make it a delightful seasonal accent—perfect for decorating a child’s room or gifting during the holidays. Compared with the plush version, this toy is more about visual appeal than cuddling, making it ideal for display or as a special ornament. The size—about 11.4 inches—strikes a balance between portability and presence, though it might be too small for some children’s play. Its soft plush material ensures it remains gentle and child-friendly, but its limited use outside the season means it’s less versatile than a traditional plush toy.
Pros:- Adorable, festive design perfect for holiday gifting
- Soft plush material suitable for children
- Unique costume with embroidered details
Cons:- Limited to holiday-themed use
- Size may be small for some children
- Price not specified
Best for: Holiday decor enthusiasts and gift buyers seeking a festive, decorative plush
Not ideal for: Children who want a plush toy for cuddling year-round or collectors seeking a non-seasonal piece
- Size:11.4in x 7.1in x 5.9in
- Brand:Jellycat
- Toy Figure Type:Stuffed Toy
- Character:Ricky Rain Frog
- Model Name:Ricky Rain Frog Christmas Tree

- Model Series:Christmas Collection
Our verdict“A charming seasonal ornament that doubles as a playful plush, best for festive decoration and small children’s gifts.”
Ricky Rain Frog Stuffed Animal – 7 inches
This plush offers a more traditional, versatile option for children and collectors. Its approximately 6-inch size makes it easy to hug and carry, while the high-quality, soft fabric ensures durability for everyday use. Compared with the Christmas Tree version, this Ricky Rain Frog provides a neutral, playful look that doesn’t scream holiday, making it suitable for year-round cuddles or display. Its design appeals to those who prefer a classic plush without seasonal embellishments. However, its smaller size might be a downside for buyers seeking larger plush toys or more substantial gifts, and the frog design may not suit everyone’s taste, especially for those who prefer more neutral or sophisticated decor.
Pros:- Soft and huggable, ideal for cuddling
- Made from high-quality, durable materials
- Cute and playful frog design suitable for all ages
- Perfect as a gift for children and plush toy collectors
Cons:- Limited size may not appeal to those seeking larger plush toys
- Frog design might not suit everyone’s taste
Best for: Children in need of a cuddly, durable plush toy and gift buyers looking for year-round appeal
Not ideal for: Holiday-only decor enthusiasts or collectors seeking seasonal-specific plush
- Dimensions:5.9 x 6.3 x 7.1 inches
- Sitting Height:5.9 inches
- Material:Premium plush fabric
Our verdict“A versatile, high-quality plush that offers year-round comfort and charm, ideal for everyday cuddles and gifting.”
How We Picked
In selecting these Jellycat Christmas toys, I prioritized festive appeal, plush quality, and versatility. I looked for products that highlight the holiday spirit through design and detail, ensuring they appeal to children and collectors alike. Size and durability also played key roles, as well as the potential for long-term use beyond just the holiday season. To make the list practical, I compared features, pros, and tradeoffs, aiming to present options that suit different buyer needs, from decorative gifts to cuddly companions.
Factors to Consider When Choosing Jellycat Christmas Collection
Selecting the right Jellycat Christmas toy depends on your main goal—whether it’s a festive decoration, a cuddly gift, or an all-season plush. By understanding your priorities, you can choose an option that best fits your needs. Here, I’ll guide you through key factors like design, size, versatility, and price to help you make an informed decision.
Festive Appeal vs. Versatility
If your goal is to add holiday cheer to your home or give a seasonal gift, the Ricky Rain Frog Christmas Tree excels with its detailed, whimsical costume that captures the spirit of Christmas. However, if you want a plush that can be used year-round, the Ricky Rain Frog Stuffed Animal provides a more neutral design that remains charming beyond the holidays.
Size and Playability
The Christmas Tree version is slightly larger but more about visual impact, making it suitable for decoration or small children who enjoy festive play. The plush toy, on the other hand, is perfect for hugging and everyday use, especially for younger children or collectors seeking a durable, cuddly companion.
Price and Seasonal Use
Typically, seasonal decorations tend to be priced higher for their limited-use appeal. The plush version offers more value for those wanting a plush toy that can be enjoyed throughout the year. Consider your budget and whether the seasonal aspect justifies the cost in your case.
Design Preferences
While both options feature the adorable Ricky Rain Frog, the Christmas Tree version emphasizes holiday-specific details, which might not appeal to everyone outside the season. The plush toy’s simple, playful design makes it suitable for a broader audience and collection purposes.
